When the place does the decorating.

A celebration shaped by old trees, long tables and the kind of landscape that asks for very little — except the confidence to let it lead.

When the place does the decorating.

Some places need dressing. Others only need you to get out of the way. This celebration began with a meadow, a line of old oaks and the decision to add as little as possible.

The palette came from the landscape: softened olive, old stone, late-afternoon warmth and just enough darkness to make candlelight matter.

The best decoration was already there. We only had to stop competing with it.

Designing with restraint

One long table instead of many round ones. Flowers cut from nearby fields, left loose. Linen in the colour of the bark. Light from candles and nothing else after nine.

Restraint is not the absence of design — it is a series of decisions not to compete with what is already beautiful.
